Shireland City Learning Centre located on the campus of Shireland Collegiate Academy in Smethwick has been established under the Excellence in Cities Initiative in Sandwell as an innovative, state-of-the-art learning centre for students in the south of Sandwell LEA and for their communities.

The City Learning Centre has learning innovation at its heart and provides a non-school like environment to test out new ways of teaching and learning with on hand technical support. Our aims are to encourage innovation in teaching and learning with the use of new technology, to support the local community, teachers, school staff and students in the development of their ICT skills and to promote and foster lifelong learning for all through direct and virtual access to an ICT rich learning experience.
